Abstract The Bhagavad Gita, one of the most profound texts of Indian philosophy, offers timeless insights into leadership, ethics, and human behavior that remain highly relevant in the context of modern management. In an era characterized by intense competition, ethical dilemmas, workplace stress, and rapid organizational change, there is a growing need for value-based and principle-centered leadership. This study aims to examine the leadership principles articulated in the Bhagavad Gita and analyze their relevance and applicability in contemporary management practices. The research focuses on key leadership concepts such as Karma Yoga (duty-oriented action), Nishkama Karma (selfless performance of work), ethical decision-making based on Dharma, emotional self-control, and detachment from the outcomes of actions. These principles emphasize responsibility, integrity, balance, and commitment, which are essential qualities for effective leadership in modern organizations. The findings indicate that a majority of respondents perceive the leadership teachings of the Bhagavad Gita as relevant and beneficial for enhancing ethical conduct, decision-making ability, stress management, and organizational harmony. The study concludes that integrating Bhagavad Gita–based leadership principles into modern management education and organizational practices can contribute to the development of ethical, responsible, and effective leaders capable of addressing contemporary managerial challenges.
