Advances in digital technologies have brought about significant transformations in health communication. In particular, the widespread adoption of generative AI technologies has reshaped the processes of generating, presenting, and sharing health information with users. Large language models, chatbot systems, and big data technologies are making health communication faster, more accessible, interactive, and personalized. However, AI-supported health communication applications also bring with them ethical and social debates regarding misinformation, data privacy, algorithmic transparency, digital trust, and health inequities. This study was prepared to evaluate the transformation of health communication in the era of generative AI through the lenses of trust, privacy, and digital interaction. Based on a literature review, this study examined current research available in the Web of Science database. The findings indicate that generative AI technologies facilitate access to health information, support real-time interaction with users, and make health communication more user-centered. In conclusion, generative AI technologies offer significant opportunities in health communication; they make health communication more accessible and interactive. However, safeguarding user trust, ensuring the security of personal health data, adhering to ethical principles, and maintaining a human-centered approach to communication are considered crucial for the future of health communication.
