Key Points

  • This research aims to understand the interactions within micellar nanoreactors during ZnS nanoparticle synthesis.
  • Synthesis of ZnS nanoparticles in micellar nanoreactors.
  • Utilization of Raman spectroscopy to study interactions inside the nanoreactors.
  • Assessment of the effect of nanoparticles and dissolved precursors on hydrogen bonds in the aqueous cores.
  • Precursors do not significantly influence the interaction of water with the nanoreactor shell.
  • Interactions within the nanoreactors were influenced predominantly by the zinc sulfide nanoparticles.

Abstract

Micellar nanoreactors were obtained and studied during the synthesis of ZnS nanoparticles in them. Using Raman spectroscopy, interactions inside the nanoreactors were studied and the effect of nanoparticles and dissolved precursors on hydrogen bonds in the aqueous cores of reverse micelles was assessed. It is shown that precursors have virtually no effect on the interaction of water with the nanoreactor shell.
