Abstract: This article examines the hate5six digital archive, founded by Sunny Singh, as a vital record of punk and hardcore music’s history, ideology, and communal experience. More than a repository of live performance footage, hate5six is a participatory project across multiple digital platforms that challenges traditional preservation models. Drawing on documentary analysis, archival studies, digital media scholarship, and an interview with Singh, this study analyzes its aesthetic and ideological dimensions, user-driven content selection, and community-building role. Singh’s careful documentation and democratic approach reveal how fans, memory, media objects, and preservation practices intersect in the digital age.
