For much of this century, sexual science has been preoccupied with the definition of sexual normality and with the question of sexual determinism. What behaviors and sexual needs are to be accepted as healthy? What are the relative impacts of biological factors, life events, and social circumstances in shaping our sexual identities? And to what extent can sexual choices be modified? While definitive answers are yet to be determined, this volume lays the necessary groundwork for researchers to begin to address these complex issues adequately.
