Haq and Batil: The Quranic Ontology of the Ba'alist Capture Mechanism

This paper grounds the SCRA Ba'alist Capture Mechanism in the Quran's structural definition of Batil. Working through five defining ayat (13:17, 14:24-27, 17:81, 21:18, 34:49) with primary reference to Allama Tabatabai's Al-Mizan fi Tafsir al-Quran, Tafsir al-Qummi, and Al-Burhan fi Tafsir al-Quran, the paper derives seven structural attributes of Batil: rootless, non-beneficial, parasitic, apparently prominent, constitutively perishing, expelled by the force it rode, and creatively sterile. Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib's admixture doctrine from Nahj al-Balagha (Khutba 16, Khutba 125) is identified as the ontological ground of the Legitimacy Name Strategy (Type III Ba'alist Capture): Batil persists by coating itself with Haq. The paper concludes that Ba'alist (prophetic-historical), Batil (Quranic-ontological), and zahir-without-batin (philosophical-analytical) are three names for the same structural reality.
