Projecting what working in 2050 will look like is a risky but necessary exercise. Risky because at 25 years' distance variables multiply and nobody has precision. Necessary because the career, public education, and investment decisions we make today determine which scenario we land in. In this article I do not present a single prediction: I present five scenarios with reasonable probability, the indicators that will tell us which one we are heading toward, and how to prepare so that none of the five catches you unarmed. I write from what I have been seeing in agentic systems in production and from conversations with researchers, ministers, and business leaders in the region.
