Abstract

Elucidates the major evolutionary pathways of the Phylum Arthropoda, based on the phylogenetic method of Hennig. Groupings are assembled such that each group is based on the sharing of character states that can be considered as derived from a ground plan, further modified in each subgroup. Emphasis is on discovering the derived character states that most probably had a common origin in an ancestral state.
