This study aims to explore the relationship between nocturnal blood pressure and left atrial strain and stiffness in elderly patients with hypertension and atrial fibrillation.
Assess nocturnal blood pressure levels in elderly hypertensive patients with atrial fibrillation.
Measure left atrial strain and stiffness using echocardiography.
Analyze correlations between nocturnal blood pressure and left atrial parameters.
Significant association found between higher nocturnal blood pressure and increased left atrial stiffness (p<0.05).
Left atrial strain negatively correlated with nocturnal blood pressure (r=-0.45, p<0.01).
Patients with poorly controlled nocturnal hypertension showed worse left atrial function than those with controlled levels.
