Abstract

The paper presents an overview of the way team nursing was implemented on several nursing wards of a general hospital. A summary is given of the results of action research on the change project. In the discussion two limiting factors in the realization of team nursing are elaborated upon These are factors in the environment of the nursing ward and factors on the level of the individual nurse. An alternative theoretical model on the therapeutic interaction between nurse and patient is presented.
