Our series is almos t e v e n l y d iv ided be tween surgical cases (155) and nonsm'gical cases (158). All pat ients had t umors ver i f ied by t issue s tudies , except a few who p re sen t ed s y m p t o m s of an obvious i n t r ac ran ia l e x p a n d i n g nmss a f te r p rev ious r emova l of a p r i m a r y t u m o r and who had con t r a s t s tudies d e m o n s t r a t i n g a mass lesion or e l e c t r o e n c e p h a l o g r a m s showing cerebra l des t ruc t ion .
