Further investigation conducted by the Journal and Publisherconfirmed the following: unexpected similarities between the image panels for the colony formation assays in Figures 2B and 6B, which are representative of different samples and treatment conditions; unexpected similarities between the image panels for the transwell assays in Figures 4E and 4G, which are representative of different samples and treatment conditions; unexpected similarities between the image panels between Figures 7E and 7G, which are representative of different samples and treatment conditions. Given the extent of image integrity concerns in the figures published, the Journal and Publisher no longer have confidence in the reported conclusions. Therefore, we are retracting the article.
