Abstract

ABSTRACTThe present study focused on the formulation and evaluation of an Aloe vera-based herbaltopical gel for wound healing applications. Aloe vera was selected because of itsantimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and wound healing properties. The herbal gelwas prepared using Carbopol 934 and Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose as gelling agents. Theprepared formulations were evaluated for physicochemical parameters such as appearance,pH, viscosity, spreadability, extrudability, drug content, in-vitro diffusion, antimicrobialactivity, and stability. The results demonstrated satisfactory physicochemical properties, goodstability, and sustained release behavior. The optimized formulation showed promisingwound healing potential and may serve as a safe, economical, and effective alternative toconventional topical wound healing formulations.
