Traumatic peripheral nerve injuries can result in severe disability, due to varying degrees of neuropathic pain, sensory deficits, motor impairment, or a combination of these symptoms, often with a profound impact on quality of life. Accurate clinical evaluation and appropriate diagnostic investigations are essential for the timely identification of such injuries and for determining the most suitable treatment strategy. The surgical management of peripheral nerve injuries encompasses a range of surgical techniques, which may be used individually or in combination, with the goal of restoring neurological function and improving patient outcomes. Among the many factors influencing prognosis, surgical timing remains the most critical determinant, as progressive degenerative changes occur following trauma, irrespective of the underlying etiology.
