Abstract

Kosuge, S. (1992). Description of a new species of the family Coralliophilidae from South Africa (Gastropoda). Bulletin of the Institute of Malacology, Tōkyō, 2(10): 157–158. Published in 1992 by the Institute of Malacology, Tokyo (東京貝類学研究所), Tokyo, Japan. This publication contains the original description of Mipus brinkae Kosuge, 1992, described from South Africa and assigned to the family Coralliophilidae. The paper provides shell morphology, measurements, type-depository information, type-locality data, comparative remarks, and notes on additional coralliophilid material examined. The article comprises pages 157–158 and is accompanied by Plate 56, figures 1–6, illustrating the holotype and paratypes of Mipus brinkae. The plate explanation also lists additional coralliophilid specimens figured from South Africa, including Babelomurex and Coralliophila taxa.
