Alder Archaeology were asked to produce an historic building record of the Old House, Bishopsfauld Farm, Near Comrie, Perth and Kinross, PH6 2JF. (site code CM11) in advance of reconstruction work to repair the existing house and the construction of new extensions to return the building to residential use. The recording was undertaken on 6th December 2022. The Old House is the only surviving building of a former farmstead approx. 400m S of the current Bishopsfauld Farmyard. The house is a 1 & 1/2 storey building and is currently in ruins, but would once have had a double-pitched and gabled slate roof. It includes a lean-to building to the rear which has been reduced to rubble and a porch to the front which is also ruined. It is built mainly of sandstone and whinstone rubble with squared quoins, ashlar window and door cills and reveals. To the SW of the building is an enclosure of mature beech trees and ruined stone walls.
