This research examines the socio-economic impact of government schemes and policies on tribal communities in Mulugu District, Telangana. The study focuses on selected villages in Govindaraopeta and Mangapet mandals and evaluates the effectiveness of welfare interventions in improving livelihoods, income generation, employment, education, healthcare, agricultural development, and access to basic amenities. Using a mixed-method approach that combines household surveys, interviews, and secondary data analysis, the study assesses the utilization and outcomes of key government programmes, including housing, pensions, healthcare, nutrition, agricultural support, drinking water, and livelihood initiatives. The findings reveal significant improvements in household income, employment opportunities, poverty reduction, and access to essential services among tribal communities. The study also identifies challenges related to awareness, infrastructure, implementation delays, cultural barriers, and gender disparities. The paper provides evidence-based policy recommendations to strengthen the effectiveness, inclusiveness, and sustainability of tribal development programmes and contribute to equitable socio-economic development in Telangana.
