Key Points

  • The aim is to present a unified framework for understanding cosmic and biological evolution as manifestations of a singular process.
  • Developed a theoretical framework called 'The General Model of Complexity Transition'.
  • Explored the cyclic nature of evolution from low complexity to higher complexity.
  • Integrated insights from 'The Theory of Recursive Causality' to describe macro-evolutionary dynamics.
  • Identified distinct but related processes in cosmic and biological evolution.
  • Described the iterative nature of complexity transition through various phases.
  • Highlighted macro-evolutionary laws that govern both cosmic and biological systems.

Abstract

This paper proposes a process framework entitled "The General Model of Complexity Transition." Its core proposition is: Cosmic evolution (from singularity to galaxies) and biological evolution (from single cells to humans) are different instances of the same process. This process can be described as follows: starting from an initial state of low complexity, through spontaneous differentiation and condensation of internal conditions, a phase transition occurs when a critical point is reached, giving rise to new levels and properties. This new level then becomes the initial condition for the next round of condensation, iterating cyclically. This framework complements "The Theory of Recursive Causality": while the latter describes the micro-dynamics of each moment and each section (conditions, sections, causal rings, perception), the former describes the macro-evolutionary laws across levels and long timescales.
