The vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 aims to transform India into a developed nation by the centenary of its independence in 2047. Achieving this objective requires multidimensional development rooted in spatial planning, environmental sustainability, economic productivity, and social equity. Geography plays a crucial role in understanding regional disparities, resource distribution, demographic dynamics, and environmental constraints that influence national development. This research paper examines the geographical perspectives necessary for achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat 2047. It focuses on spatial development strategies including regional planning, sustainable resource management, urban–rural integration, climate resilience, agricultural modernization, and infrastructure expansion. The study highlights the need for balanced regional development, environmental conservation, and technological integration such as GIS and artificial intelligence in policy planning. The findings suggest that geographically informed planning can significantly contribute to inclusive growth, ecological sustainability, and improved quality of life across India.
