Abstract

Several projects of particle identification (PID) systems based on aerogel Cherenkov counters are currently under consideration at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics (BINP). ASHIPH counters equipped with SiPMs as photon detectors are proposed for the PID system of the Super Tau Charm Facility (Hefei). In addition, R&D efforts for the FARICH system of the SPD experiment at the NICA collider (Dubna) are presented. A study of the feasibility of building RICH detectors based on aerogels with refractive index n≤1.008 was conducted using GEANT4 simulations.
