HRMARS - Over the past three years, research on mental health and psychometric properties has grown substantially, reflecting an increasing acknowledgment of mental health as a central pillar of individual well-being and societal resilience. This systematic review integrates findings from empirical studies published between 2022 and 2024, focusing on the development, adaptation, and validation of mental health assessment tools. Following the PRISMA guidelines, a comprehensive search of the Scopus database identified 6,255 records, of which 35 studies met the inclusion criteria for detailed analysis. The review explores the theoretical frameworks that inform recent psychometric research, commonly utilized instruments, and the statistical methodologies adopted to ensure validity and reliability. Results demonstrate a clear progression characterized by the increasing use of advanced statistical techniques such as Item Response Theory, multi-group Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling alongside a shift toward culturally and contextually adapted instruments. Although progress has been made, persistent gaps remain, including the limited validation of tools for marginalized populations, underrepresentation of non-Western cultural contexts, and insufficient integration of digital assessment methods. Bridging these gaps requires the development of culturally responsive, technologically innovative, and theoretically grounded instruments. This review offers a thorough overview of current trends, identifies critical research gaps, and proposes future directions to improve the accuracy, inclusivity, and applicability of psychometric instruments throughout global mental health research.
