This study investigates the role of medical libraries for the promotion of health literacy, the prevention of misinformation, and support for patient care in government medical institutions of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. A research design based on a survey was done on doctors, medical students, and researchers at three main institutions. Most frequently, stakeholders use health literacy workshops and digital tools, while they seldom employ critical appraisal training. According to the respondents, they face issues with misinformation quite often. However, they noted that library resources help them distinguish between accurate and misleading information. According to the findings, the medical library is valued but does not see usage. It was established that there is a need for enhancing training, stronger institutional support, and strategic integration of library services to improve patient care and evidence-informed decision-making.
