Abstract

This volume,Disorders of the Developing Nervous System, is the sixth in a series of published symposia of The Houston Neurological Society, presented at its Eighth Annual Scientific Meeting (March, 1960) in The Texas Medical Center. Part 1 is concerned with pre- and perinatal factors in neurological disease, and is composed of 8 chapters. The second part is entitled, "Pathogenesis and Treatment of Hydrocephalus," and includes 10 contributions. A large amount of information is well organized in this volume, and the summaries and discussions at the end of each chapter are especially useful. Many of the speculations and theories of the past about abnormalities of growth and development resulting from central nervous system disorders have been reexamined.
