Abstract

This article investigates some issues associated with Big Data and analytics (Big Data) and ethics, examining how Big Data ethics are different than computer ethics and other more general ethical frameworks. In so doing, the author briefly investigates some of the previous research in "computer ethics," reviews some codes of ethics, analyzes the application of two frameworks on ethics to Big Data, and provides a definition of Big Data ethics. Ultimately, the author argues that in order to get sufficient specificity, a code of ethics for Big Data is necessary.
