Abstract

Logic is indispensable to human inquiry, yet it is not identical with reality. Every logical system operates within assumptions, concepts, and relations that determine the conclusions it can produce. Consequently, opposing positions may each possess internal coherence while remaining incompatible with one another. This paper argues that logic and rational inquiry are distinctive capacities of human consciousness, but they remain instruments of understanding rather than reality itself. Drawing upon a phenomenological orientation, it examines how conceptual structures—including logical systems—can become mistaken for existence itself. It further argues that human rationality distinguishes the human mode of being without separating humanity from the ecological and existential unity of life. The deepest task of phenomenology is therefore not to replace one conceptual framework with another, but to disclose how concepts become reified into reality. Through direct awareness rather than conceptual attachment, human beings may encounter existence prior to inherited interpretation.
