Abstract

Abstract A new class of discotic liquid crystals based on 2, 4, 6-triphenyl-1, 3, 5-triazine as a core and (4-alkoxyphen-yl)ethynyl benzene ester as rigid arms has been synthesized by a Pd(0)/Cu(I)-catalyzed carbon–carbon coupling reaction. The obtained compounds exhibited liquid-crystalline properties.
