Abstract

The first isolable molecular thorium nitride, (NR 2) 3 Th (μ-N) Th (NR 2) 3 −, was synthesized by reaction of ThN (R) (SiMe 2) CH 2 (NR 2) 2 with NaNH 2 and characterized by X-ray crystallography, 15 N NMR spectroscopy, and DFT calculations.
