Abstract

This article aims to develop a general model of concrete deformation in concrete and reinforced concrete elements and structures under various intensities dynamic loads. The main attention is paid to the well-known dynamic increase factor (DIF). The main advantages and disadvantages of the currently existing ways and methods of its determination have been classified and analyzed. An analytically justified dependence of the concrete DIF on the strain rate of compressed concrete was obtained. The effectiveness of the developed methodology for determining the DIF was evaluated by comparing the results of theoretical calculations with published experimental data of individual researchers.
