Abstract

A novel bacteria-templated sonochemical route is developed for the in situ one-step synthesis of ZnS hollow nanostructures at room temperature involving artificial mineralization and microorganism disruption under ultrasound. The facile, novel, and green method that we report here has potential as a generic means of the one-step synthesis of various hollow nanostructures of other materials that are currently unattainable through any other method.
