Schlauchartige TiO2-Nanostrukturen (hohl – siehe TEM-Bild – oder teilweise gefüllt) oder sphärische Nanostrukturen im Fall der Anatasmodifikation wurden gezielt durch Solvothermalsynthese generiert. Bei einer Verringerung des Wassergehalts der Wasser/2-Propanol-Mischung wird eine morphologische Umwandlung der schlauchartigen Gebilde in Kugeln beobachtet.
