This presentation introduces the principles and practices of Open Science, with a focus on their relevance for doctoral research. It covers the main components of Open Science, including Open Access publishing, research data management, and the FAIR principles, and situates them within the research lifecycle. The session also addresses current challenges in the research system, such as reproducibility and access barriers, and highlights the benefits of openness for visibility, collaboration, and research integrity.
