He previously served as Executive Vice President and Dean of the Faculties of Health Sciences and Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center from 2006 to 2020. His work includes developing the Goldman Index for predicting cardiac risk in noncardiac surgery and contributing to studies on healthcare policy and outcomes.
