E. Dale Abel

E. Dale Abel is the William S. Adams Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Executive Medical Director at UCLA Health. He previously served as the Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and Director of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center at the University of Iowa. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms responsible for cardiovascular complications of diabetes, including mitochondrial dysfunction and aberrant insulin signaling.
