Richard D. Weisel

Richard D. Weisel is a Professor Emeritus of Surgery at the University of Toronto and a Senior Scientist Emeritus at the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute, part of the University Health Network. He previously served as the Chair of the Division of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Toronto from 1998 to 2009 and as Director of the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute from 2005 to 2011. His research has included myocardial protection during cardiac surgery and cardiac regeneration using stem cells.
