He holds adjunct professorships in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and in Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Washington. He serves as co-director of Behavioral Health Services at the UW Center for Pain Relief and has conducted research on heart failure models and the interplay between mental health and cardiovascular conditions.
