Karl T. Weber, MD, is the Neuton Stern Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Director of the Cardiology Training Program in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He previously held leadership positions including Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and Director of the Division of Cardiology at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center, and Director of the Cardiology Division at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center. His research, funded by the National Institutes of Health for over 40 years, has focused on heart failure, cardiac fibrosis, and related mechanisms.
