Rik Willems

Rik Willems is a cardiologist at University Hospitals Leuven where he serves as the medical responsible of the non-invasive cardiology unit and the clinical cardiac electrophysiology unit. He is appointed as a full professor at KU Leuven in the Faculty of Medicine within the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences. He completed his specialization in cardiology in 2002, obtained his PhD in medical sciences in 2005 on mechanisms of remodeling underlying atrial fibrillation, and undertook a clinical fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Calgary.
