Irfan M. Asif is the associate dean for primary care and rural health, professor, and chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He also serves as co-director of the UAB Minority Health and Health Equity Research Center and director of the Primary Care Service Line at UAB Health System. His research explores domains within sports cardiology with an emphasis on preventing cardiometabolic disease.
