The pursuit of sustainable development, despite society's interest, presents challenges in the construction sector. In this context, the present research aimed to identify research trends in practices that strengthen environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects in the management of civil construction projects, globally developed, showing existing solutions in the face of these challenges. Through an integrative literature review, 22 articles were analyzed. The results showed the geographic distribution of the selected papers across 12 countries, with broader vision research in the United Kingdom and a focus on security in China. There was an increase in scientific production from 2021 onwards, and advances and challenges in sustainable construction, emphasizing collaborative strategies, awareness, and government policies. Highlights include project management practices, contractual clauses, just-in-time, BIM and reward systems, and challenges such as implementation costs, lack of training, resistance to change, support from senior management and government regulations.
