The husband of the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball coach claimed to be certified in a physical therapy method known as Muscle Activation Technique (MAT). He wasn’t employed by ENMU but began offering free treatment sessions to the university's student‐athletes. He initially offered these treatment sessions on campus before transitioning sessions to his private residence. Several basketball players attended these sessions at the coach's off‐campus home.
