ABSTRACT A low‐profile hybrid decoupling structure for dual‐band dual‐polarized antenna arrays is proposed in this letter. The decoupling structure consists of an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) and a dual‐band resonance isolation net (RIN). The AMC reflector can not only reduce the profile, but also reduce the coupling in E‐plane, and the dual‐band RIN can suppress the coupling in both E‐plane and H‐plane. The profile of the proposed 2‐1‐2 staggered array is only 0.08λ 0 . The measured results show that various mutual couplings are suppressed with decoupling structures and the isolation is better than 20 and 22 dB in the low frequency band of 2.59–2.71 GHz and the high frequency band of 4.28–5.23 GHz. In addition, the improvement in channel capacity of the MIMO array also confirms that the decoupling structure has a significant influence on the promotion of communication quality.
