The article substantiates that the system of general principles of social protection includes the principles of: (1) universality and uniformness of the social protection; (2) social fairness and differentiation (individualization) of the conditions and level of social protection, which provides for the adjustment of the amount of social payments and the conditions for other social protection measures to the nature, duration and outcomes of work (service) of specific individuals, their degree of working capacity and other objective circumstances with which the law links the emergence of their right to certain benefits; (3) transparency and accountability of competent authorities in the field of social protection; (4) enforceability of the right to social protection, which requires that persons with the right to social benefits be granted the right to judicial protection of this right in the event of its violation with the possibility of their enforcement. The system of special principles of social protection of military personnel includes, in particular, the principles of: (1) comprehensiveness of social protection of military personnel, which implies the need to ensure the highest possible level of their physical, psychological and social health in all its aspects (from material and social aid to the provision of certain psychological assistance, legal aid, rehabilitation, etc.); (2) initiative, prevention and durability, which require focusing on the early detection of risks to the well-being of military personnel, as well as on preventing negative trends at all stages of their lives, regardless of whether the military personnel applied for assistance of one nature or another; (3) ensuring the completeness, reliability and convenience of informing military personnel about benefits; (4) inadmissibility of lowering the level of social protection of military personnel.
