Features of the political regime of Ukraine in the conditions of a full-scale war have been studied. The analysis of specific changes in the functioning of the country’s political system caused by the critical conditions of the military state was carried out. The impact of the war on the transformation of the political regime is described, with a special emphasis on the strengthening of the centralization of state leadership, the problem of preserving democratic governance, the transparency of political power, the issue of the rule of law and the protection of people’s rights. The key vector of the research is related to the search for a balance between ensuring the effectiveness of state governance and observing democratic guidelines during the war. The interpretation of the concept of «political regime» and its characteristic features are analyzed. An authorial definition of the concept of «political regime» has been proposed, with consideration given to various theoretical approaches. The connection between the democratic transformation of society and the realization of the democratic transit of the political regime is outlined. The role of democratic transformations for the consolidation of the nation in the extreme circumstances of the state’s life is determined. Attention is drawn to the need for national consolidation in the period of a large-scale war with an aggressive occupier to strengthen the country’s national security. The political regime is characterized in the context of considering the level of support for democratic principles in Ukraine based on the analysis of the results of modern research. The obtained conclusions demonstrate the trajectory of democratic transformations and recommendations for the approval of democratic principles of administration. This prompts us to analyze the specifics of the political regime of modern Ukraine in the conditions of a full-scale war.
