The purpose of the study is to study the characteristics of the psychological phenomenon of "self-esteem", as well as its influence on the choice of a certain and specific strategy of behavior in a conflict. Self-esteem, which correlates with self-esteem, is presented as a key concept in the context of the study. Methods and organization of the study: analysis, synthesis, generalization, classification, the methodology "adapted version of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale", diagnostic scale - questionnaire by A.F. Fiedler, the Behavior Description Test by K. Thomas was used. The organization of the study was based on observation of a group of subjects, as well as the organization and implementation of the necessary diagnostic methods. Results of the study and conclusions: adolescent self-esteem contributes to adaptive strategies for resolving conflict situations, and low self-esteem is associated with negative behavior patterns, including aggression and avoidance. Conclusions: this study emphasizes the importance and relevance of psychological and pedagogical work with adolescents to develop adequate self-esteem and social and communication skills so that the atmosphere in classrooms for adolescents is conducive to favorable communication and development.
