The article analyzes the principles of sovereign statehood formulated by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the formation of constitutional thought during this period. Based on archival documents and historical and legal analysis, the significance of the political and legal steps taken by the republic is revealed. The study also focuses on the influence of statehood traditions on later periods and the ideological roots of modern legal thought. The article presents a conceptual approach for young researchers and those working in the field of history and law.
