Abstract

The national-religious idea that emerged in the XIXth century in connection with the victory over Napoleon and the scientific-pedagogical thought about national foundations of education, the progenitor of which was K.D. Ushinsky, affirmed new guidelines for public and family upbringing. N.I. Pirogov, K.D. Ushinsky, P.D. Yurkevich, S.S. Gogotsky, etc. talk about the need to return to traditional values and Christian ideals in education. Beginning with the era of Nicholas I the main objective of the educational process becomes the preparation of worthy sons of the Fatherland, selfless and dedicated to their faith, homeland, and people. The works of Russian thinkers became increasingly popular. This period includes the second and third quarter of the XIXth century and is marked by global state reforms that entailed major changes in education and upbringing.
