Elderly women living alone in the era of digital transformation experience significant stress factors, including social isolation, emotional instability, financial insecurity, physical health issues, digital alienation, and a loss of identity and self-esteem. When left unmanaged, stress can lead to unsafe behaviors such as fatigue, attention deficit, and sleep disorders, and prolonged exposure may aggravate chronic illnesses. Moreover, it contributes to mental and emotional disturbances such as depression, insomnia, dementia, and even suicide risk, ultimately affecting brain function. This study aims to explore the potential of individualized emotional intervention by applying a personalized skincare program to elderly women living alone and analyzing their brainwave changes before and after the intervention on a case-by-case basis. After guiding each participant into a resting state, EEG was measured for 3 minutes. A customized skincare program was then implemented based on skin analysis. Post-EEG measurements were taken using the same procedure to evaluate changes in brain activity, brain function, stress levels, behavioral and emotional tendencies. A neuroscience expert provided individualized brain health counseling for each participant based on comparative EEG analysis results. The study found improvements in behavioral tendencies, cerebral arousal, concentration, and emotional introversion following facial beauty care. These findings suggest that personalized skincare services may contribute to enhanced attention, emotional stability, and energy recovery. In the context of a super-aging society, beauty care may serve not only as a cosmetic intervention but also as a personalized emotional strategy grounded in neurophysiological responses. The beauty industry, which is evolving through technology and services, holds the potential to expand into sensory-stimulus-based psychological healing domains.
