The paper presents the results of studies on the effect of protective preparations with different spectrum of action on the shelf life of table carrots. It reflects the results of experiments of the prestorage treatment of products with film-forming and immunomodulating preparations. NaturCover, which is a complex of sucrose and fatty acid esters, and Ecogel, the active substance of which is chitosan lactate, were taken as film-forming preparations, and Vitamar, a preparation based on Ascophyllum nodosum algae, and Zircon, containing a mixture of hydroxycinnamic acids, were used as immunomodulators. They were used in concentrations recommended by manufacturers, including for use on vegetative plants. The objects of the study were regional varieties of carrots – Shantene Korolevskaya, Margosha and Aksinya. A difference in the effect of film-forming preparations NaturCover and Ecogel on the dynamics of product loss during storage for the studied varieties was established. Their positive effect on shelf life was revealed, noted for all varieties. Their effect was manifested in a decrease in the damage of root crops by black rot (Alternaria spot), due to which the commercial yield after storage was 77.4...87.8 % against 74.4...76.2 % in dry and wet reference specimen. The highest commercial yield after 7 months of storage (87.8 %) was noted for the Aksinya variety in the variant with Ecogel treatment. Zircon stood out among the immunomodulatory preparations. Without having a significant effect on the dynamics of weight loss, it contributed to a decrease in losses from Alternaria spot, and thereby contributed to an increase in the commercial yield to 79.5...87.5 %. A positive effect from treatment with this drug was noted for all three varieties.
