The article is devoted to the study of scientific and technological development in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The relevance of the chosen research topic is due to the fact that the factors of science, innovation and technology at the state level are identified as drivers of socio-economic development in the whole country and regions. The purpose of the research is to study the current state, dynamics, features and prospects of scientific and technological development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). An analysis of the literature has shown that the assessment of the level of scientific and technological development can be effectively carried out through the use of a ranking system. The methods of rating assessment, comparisons and statistical analysis were used for the study. To assess the level of scientific and technological development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and compare it with other regions, materials from the results of the national rating of scientific and technological development of the subjects of the Russian Federation, developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in 2020 on behalf of the President, were used. A sample of data has been formed, on the basis of which a rating has been compiled and a comparative analysis of the positions of scientific and technological development of the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District for 2023 has been performed. The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) ranks 52nd among the regions of Russia (92.8 points), and 4th in the Far Eastern Federal District. The analysis of the current state for 2023 and the dynamics of the development of key indicators of scientific and technological development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for the period 2010, 2015–2023 based on official statistics has been performed. The analysis shows that the republic has great scientific and technological potential, including the newly created world-class scientific and educational center «North: territory of sustainable development». The greatest activity of scientific and technological activities in the republic has been noted since the adoption in 2020 of the RS state program «Scientific and Technological Development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)». The research revealed the characteristic features of the scientific and technological development of the republic. In the future, the authors’ research will be aimed at scientific support and participation in the implementation of scientific and technological projects aimed at developing the unique resources of the region, technology transfer to the real sector of the economy a nd the social sphere of the region.
