In Kuzbass coalless zones of quarry fields of open pit mines make up about half of the total space, and the share of rocks requiring drilling and blasting preparation is from 20 to 80%. The experience of operation of excavators of large unit capacity shows that their technical capabilities are realized only by 60–70% due to the increase of cycle duration by 1.3 times, mismatch of dump truck body capacity to the capacity of the excavator bucket and non-rhythmicity of truck traffic, inadequate quality of rock crushing. In the given article the analysis of parameters and indicators of coalless zones mining by powerful excavators in a complex with dump trucks of large capacity is executed and preliminary conclusions about possibilities of increase of productivity of such excavator-automobile complexes are made, the basic requirements to technology of conducting stripping works with application of excavators of large unit capacity and heavy-duty dump trucks are resulted.
